Anatomy of a Project
From concept to launch, get a clear idea of my process for each project's flow.

The start of a new project can be energizing, exciting and fun.  It can also be intimidating, overwhelming, and difficult to begin. MKH Digital totally understands how busy you are. You have just about a million things to do, and adding one more might tip the scales into chaos. That’s why we created this helpful guide to begin learning about these new ventures and give you an idea of what to expect.

Let’s Begin

Typically, the first matter at hand is hiring your expert. At MKH Digital this will usually start with a call, exchange of emails, ideas and content and then an estimate. Having aligned the WHY – goals, motives, and wishes – we then define the WHAT – content, site structure, aesthetics, and functionality. We then develop a skeletal structure for the site and decide when and where to add new features. This will give us a rough estimate of time investment so we can all be on the same page.

When everyone is happy and in agreement, we will move forward with design mood boards, site setup, and content organization. When working with a designer and/or developer, much of the heavy lifting is taken off your shoulders – time to sit back and relax right? – not quite yet. While you will not be responsible for any of the design or build of the site, you will have to create content. This can be one of the biggest hurdles for many new companies, so many brands choose to work with an internal or external team on this piece.

Content Creation Hurdle

Our goal is to help you get through this part as it can add a lot to your plate. Here are some general questions to get started:

  • What are the best ways to organize content so that it is digestible and easy to navigate?
  • Is there a CTA (call to action) you would like to implement?
  • How would you like to convey your message?
  • What do you hope to achieve with this site?
  • Would you like to blog?
  • Will you be selling anything through the site?
  • What specialty services should you emphasize?
  • What type of customer are you looking for and how do you want to interact with them?
  • Have you already created a website? What do you like and dislike about your existing website?

A core part of the MKH Digital experience is getting help with most of these items, however, we cannot write your content for you. We know this is the most challenging part of any project so we make it as simple and efficient as possible. Our tracking tools, site maps, and continuous communications help you stay on top of everything. Furthermore, we pride ourselves on being flexible, so if you need time, take it! It’s your brand and your website so we can adjust the pace of productivity to meet your needs.

Finish Line

Once all content is in place, the site building phase should move quickly (from your perspective) and we’ll begin polishing. We will send you a preview of the site at each phase so you can offer feedback, tweaks, and revisions. Once you’re ready the site will launch!

Post Launch

Upon completion of your site, you can count on us for website updates, monthly maintenance, and any other web-related services at your request.

Now that you know what to expect, what are you waiting for? Let’s chat to get your project underway.  And while you’re here – check out our visual roadmap for our process.
